WHAT IS SPAY & NEUTER SURGERY?
Spaying and neutering are routine surgical procedures that prevent pets from reproducing. A spay procedure is performed on female pets and involves removing the ovaries and uterus, while a neuter procedure is performed on male pets and involves removing the testicles.
These procedures are extremely common in veterinary medicine and are performed under general anesthesia using modern surgical techniques designed to keep your pet safe and comfortable.
WHY YOUR PET MAY NEED A SPAY OR NEUTER
Your pet may be ready for spay or neuter surgery if they are:
• Reaching the recommended age for the procedure
• Displaying behaviors such as marking, roaming, or aggression
• Experiencing heat cycles (in females) or “spraying” (male cats)
• Part of a household looking to prevent unwanted litters
Our team will help you determine the best timing based on your pet’s breed, size, and overall health.

ALL-INCLUSIVE PRICING
Our spay and neuter prices are all-inclusive, barring extreme circumstances. (We list those circumstances below!)
To begin, here is what each spay or neuter package includes:
- ✅ A pre-anesthetic exam.
- ✅ The anesthesia.
- ✅ The surgery itself.
- ✅ Medication while they are at our facility.
- ✅ Advanced monitoring of the patient after the surgery is performed.
- ✅ Medication to go home with, as well as instructions from the veterinarian.
- ✅ A buster collar, if needed.
What can affect the price?
Clients can also opt to have bloodwork and IV-fluids administered for an additional charge. We highly recommend these for older pets going through this procedure.
- Bloodwork checks our patients organ functions to make sure everything is stable before going under-anesthesia.
- IV-fluids help flush the anesthesia out of the patient’s system quicker.
- While recommended, these are not a medical necessity in order to perform the procedure.
There is an additional charge if a female patient is found to be in-heat or pregnant, as this complicates the procedure.
Pricing is based on weight (and species of course). Please call in to our PetWow customer care team at (859)-360-7969 to get pricing for your pet – our team is dedicated to being kind and clear, and we’ll be happy to answer any question you may have!
