Which Groom Is Right for Your Cat?
Basic grooming is a great option for cats who need help with shedding, hygiene, or routine maintenance. Full grooming is ideal for long-haired cats, those with matting, or cats who need a more thorough coat reset. If you’re unsure which option is best, our team can recommend the right service based on your cat’s coat and condition.
Sedated Grooming (When Needed)
Some cats are especially sensitive or stressed during grooming. In these cases, sedated grooming may be the safest and most comfortable option. This is only used when necessary and is carefully monitored by our veterinary team. If your cat has struggled with grooming in the past, we’re happy to discuss whether this option is appropriate. We’re one of the only businesses in the Northern Kentucky area which has the ability to provide this service due to the fact that we have licensed veterinarians on our team who can sedate and monitor your cat while our groomers work on giving your cat the groom they need.
What To Expect At Your Cat’s Grooming Appointment:
Our grooming appointments are all focused on making the experience as easy as possible for you and your cat. Here’s what the typical first grooming visit looks like:
- Drop off your pet between 7AM-9AM on the day of their appointment.
- One of our team members will go over your grooming notes with you (to make sure we know what you want done).
- You get to go enjoy your day!
- We’ll call you as soon as your cat is finished being groomed!
- You pick up your pet at your convenience (anytime before we close).
Subsequent visits are even faster, as we record what type of haircut you like your cat to receive for their next visit! If you want anything changed regarding their cut, we’re always happy to accomodate your needs.
NOTE: All pets who are groomed at our facility are required to be updated with the rabies vaccine. Not only is this a legal requirement, it also ensures the safety of our team. If your pet is not up to date, our veterinary team can quickly update their rabies vaccine for an added charge.

Please bring your cat’s proof of rabies vaccine with you so we can add it to our system, or email it to our team at customercare@petwow.com. (PetWow veterinary clients that are up to date on their rabies will already have this information in their account). Other than that, we just need your direction on what kind of groom/haircut you would like us to give your cat!
We groom our patients on a first come, first serve basis. Meaning that the first pet to be admitted for grooming on a given day is the first pet our grooming team starts serving. We make sure your pet is well taken care of during their stay with us, and we call as soon as your cat’s groom is completed. Typically we ask for between 4-6 hours to complete your pet’s grooming. This ensures our team is able to dedicate the appropriate amount of time to each patient’s grooming experience. You can pick them up anytime between the time we call you and the time we close!
Matting is super common, especially in long-haired breeds. While we will always start by trying to brush out the matting, if it is severe enough, we may have to shave down the area or even sedate your pet to remove the mats comfortably. We will look at the different areas your cat may have matting and clearly communicate our findings, so you and our grooming team are always on the same page.
Our customer care team is always happy to provide you with a full quote for services before you book an appointment to make sure you know the cost before having your pet groomed. Our cat grooming is based off of your cats coat length.
