Spaying and neutering are among the most common and important procedures we perform. Our team focuses on safety, clear communication, and making the process straightforward for both you and your pet.
WHAT IS SPAY & NEUTER SURGERY?
Spaying and neutering are routine surgical procedures that prevent pets from reproducing. A spay is performed on female pets and involves removing the ovaries and uterus, while a neuter is performed on male pets and involves removing the testicles.
These procedures are extremely common and are performed under general anesthesia using modern surgical techniques designed to keep your pet safe and comfortable.

BENEFITS OF SPAY & NEUTER
Health Benefits
Spaying and neutering can reduce the risk of certain cancers and infections.
Behavioral Benefits
These procedures may reduce behaviors such as roaming, marking, and aggression, as well as “spraying” in male cats.
Community Benefits
Preventing unwanted litters helps reduce pet overpopulation and improves overall animal welfare.
ALL-INCLUSIVE PRICING
Our spay and neuter pricing is designed to be straightforward and all-inclusive in most cases. (We’ll outline the few exceptions below.)
Here’s what is typically included in your pet’s spay or neuter procedure:
• ✅ A pre-anesthetic exam to ensure your pet is healthy for surgery
• ✅ Safe anesthesia administered and monitored throughout the procedure
• ✅ The surgical procedure itself, performed by an experienced veterinarian
• ✅ Post-operative monitoring as your pet recovers
• ✅ Take-home medications and detailed discharge instructions
• ✅ An e-collar (cone) if needed to support healing
What can affect the total cost?
Some optional services and specific circumstances can impact pricing.
Pet owners may choose to add pre-surgical bloodwork and IV fluids for an additional cost. We often recommend these—especially for older pets—as they can improve overall safety.
• Bloodwork helps evaluate organ function prior to anesthesia
• IV fluids can help maintain hydration and support recovery
• While recommended, these are not required to perform the procedure
In certain cases, there may be an additional charge if a female pet is found to be in heat or pregnant, as this can make the surgery more complex.
How pricing is determined
Pricing varies based on your pet’s size (weight) and species.
