Wellness exams are one of the most important ways we help pets live longer, healthier lives. Our team takes a proactive approach—focusing on prevention, early detection, and personalized care tailored to your pet’s specific needs.

WHAT IS A WELLNESS EXAM?

A wellness exam is a routine veterinary check-up designed to assess your pet’s overall health and identify potential concerns early. During the visit, your veterinarian performs a full physical examination and evaluates everything from weight and nutrition to heart health and mobility.

These exams are not just for sick pets—they are a key part of preventative care that helps catch issues before they become more serious.

WHY YOUR PET NEEDS WELLNESS EXAMS

Regular wellness exams are important for pets of all ages. Your pet may benefit from a visit if they are:

• Due for an annual or routine check-up
• Entering a new life stage (puppy, adult, or senior)
• Due for preventative care or vaccinations
• Showing early signs of discomfort or illness

Even subtle changes in your pet’s normal routine can provide important clues about their health. Let our veterinary team know if your pet has experienced changes in appetite, energy level, drinking habits, behavior, or body weight. Concerns such as a dog that suddenly stops eating, a cat that refuses food, a dog sleeping much more than usual, increased thirst, or unexplained weight loss can sometimes signal an underlying health issue worth discussing with your veterinarian.

Regular wellness exams at our Highland Heights veterinary clinic give us an opportunity to evaluate these changes alongside your pet’s physical exam, medical history, weight, nutrition, and overall health. Identifying changes early can help us determine whether monitoring, diagnostic testing, treatment, or another next step is appropriate.

How Much Does A Wellness Exam Cost at the Highland Heights PetWow?

Our wellness exam fee at the Highland Heights PetWow is $53.99.

We always want to be crystal clear with our clients – this is the cost for the visit and discussion with the veterinarian. If you opt to have other treatments or services performed, the price will go up. (We will discuss all options and pricing with you before proceeding of course).

Took Zeus in for a checkup because he had been favoring one leg. Turns out he had an abscess. I felt so bad I didn’t notice, but they reassured me and then took great care of him, and he’s so much happier now! Dr Myers and the whole staff were great as always!

The appt was great. The dr and vet tech were thorough. Our Frank has been through a lot since we have had him. PetWow did his heartworm treatment and is our regular vet. Frank is heartworm free. He’s a rescue from SAAP , he spent his first 2 years of life in the shelter then in a foster home. We’ve had him for 3 years and he was our missing piece and we are his forever home! He’s spoiled rotten!
